EL PUENTE – A BRIDGE BETWEEN FARMERS AND THE GLOBAL MARKET
In 2018, Clearpath Coffee launched the El Puente project, establishing a coffee processing community located in Palestina, in the Huila region. Translated into English, El Puente means “The Bridge.” The name fully reflects the project’s main mission – to provide small producers with access to selling specialty coffee on the global market. The symbolism is enhanced by a real, large bridge painted in recognizable bright colors – the only way to reach the processing station. This beautiful and iconic bridge is also depicted on the farmers’ vibrant coffee bags.
The station is strategically located in the heart of Palestina’s coffee industry – in the area with the highest density of coffee farms, making it easy and quick to transport cherries to the station. Processing at the station is supported by regular partners – Aroma del Sur (Flavors of the East) – renowned producers connected with three farms (El Progreso, Monteblanco, and La Loma), which our assortment has been familiar with previously. The head of the company is the very famous and much-loved farmer Rodrigo Sanchez!
Rodrigo’s extensive experience and dedication, classic Colombian varieties, the incredible cool climate of Palestina, and quality natural fermentation – all combine to produce an exceptional coffee with a sweet berry complex and strong symbolism.
